No Android for Nintendo

Nintendo’s new console, the Nintendo NX, won’t be equipped with Google Android. The rumours about Android for Nintendo are not true, tells Nintendo’s press officer. An anonymous source told the Japanese Nikkei that the Nintendo NX would be equipped with a modified version of the Android operating system to provide more flexibility to game developers and to create access for multi-platform games that would run on tablets and smartphones as well.

In march Nintendo revealed that they are working on the new Nintendo NX, but specific details weren’t provided. Nintendo director Satoru Iwata claims that this new console will be a completely new concept and that it won’t replace the 3DS or Wii U. Besides that, Iwata claimed that Nintendo works on five mobile games for Smartphones, which is new for this historic company.
