The Legend of Zelda fans will finally get to play as Zelda herself in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The highly anticipated new entry in the series is arriving on September 26. Fans who watched this week’s Nintendo Direct may have recognized the game’s art style. Echoes of Wisdom brings back the colorful visual aesthetic of the 2019 remake of Link’s Awakening. If you haven’t played the stellar remake yet, now’s a great time to pick it up. Walmart is selling , down from $60, for a limited time.

Amazon sold out of this same deal quickly, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Walmart sell out, too. Renewed interest in Link’s Awakening due to Echoes of Wisdom means you may want to grab a copy sooner rather than later.

A remake of a Game Boy (and Game Boy Color) classic, Link’s Awakening offers a cozy change of pace from the sprawling open-world Zelda games of the present (Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom). The Switch version remains faithful to the all-time classic while offering quality-of-life enhancements and a bunch of new collectibles to find on Koholint Island. It’s a great game to revisit for those who are nostalgic for the traditional Zelda formula. And it certainly seems like the perfect Zelda game to play ahead of Echoes of Wisdom. Plus, if you want to introduce your youngsters to Zelda ahead of Echoes of Wisdom, Link’s Awakening is arguably the best introduction to the series.

The Switch remake earned an 8/10 in our The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening review. “Though the remake has a couple of blemishes, it’s still an easy game to recommend. People speak of Link’s Awakening as the secret best Zelda game,” critic Peter Brown wrote. “That’s a tough call to make, but it’s definitely one of the best. If you haven’t touched a classic Zelda game in a while, Link’s Awakening will almost instantly transport you back to the ’90s. It’s simple, in many ways, but the orchestrated journey still conveys a sense of adventure, and this new version is without question the best way to experience it. And more than anything else, it will put a smile on your face. Remakes are a dime a dozen nowadays and often easy to overlook. Don’t make that mistake with Link’s Awakening.”

Link’s Awakening isn’t the only Zelda game on sale right now, though. You can also save on the other three mainline Zelda games that have received physical releases on Switch:
