The latest offering includes PowerEdge rack servers, which are designed to be reliable and future-ready for emerging IT strategies that prioritize avoiding vendor lock-in and accommodating a mix of virtual machines, containers, and bare metal.
According to Varun Chhabra, Senior Vice President of Infrastructure and Telecom Marketing, customers are increasingly focused on architecting their technology to enhance scalability, efficiency, and adaptability by moving towards a disaggregated infrastructure that pools compute, storage, and networking resources.
The new PowerEdge servers (R470, R570, R670, and R770) are powered by Intel Xeon 6 with P-cores processors, available in single and dual-socket configurations. These servers promise significant cost savings in energy consumption—up to 50% compared to prior generations—and provide a notable performance boost with more cores per processor and advanced features meant to handle high workloads efficiently.
Dell’s storage solutions have also been upgraded, with the PowerScale flash storage portfolio reengineered for optimal AI data management, featuring 122TB solid-state drives that offer up to 6PB of fast data access within a compact 2U enclosure. Additionally, the Dell ObjectScale object storage system has seen enhancements to support greater data density and improved operational capabilities, developed in collaboration with Wasabi Technologies.
For small businesses and remote offices, the introduction of the PowerProtect DD6410 appliance features scalable storage capacity from 12 TB to 256 TB, providing faster recovery speeds and improved data management capabilities while maintaining a smaller physical footprint.
