Kinetic Games has announced a new map for the co-op horror game Phasmophobia. Named Neil’s Diner, this map is set to be available on November 11, and it features a long-abandoned restaurant setting. The unveiling took place during a TwitchCon panel that celebrated the game’s fifth anniversary.
Neil’s Diner is characterized as a "run-down, retro restaurant," which has been deserted by both staff and customers for some time. Although it’s one of the smaller locations in the game, it offers players intricate details and ghostly encounters. Lead developer Daniel Knight expressed excitement about this new addition, stating, “We always thought a diner would fit perfectly, so Nell’s was born. It’s been such a fun challenge bringing it to life.” Knight further explained that the diner exemplifies the type of storytelling they aim to incorporate into all future maps in Phasmophobia.
The game is expected to transition to version 1.0 next year, coinciding with a significant overhaul known as Horror 2.0. This update promises to revamp the game experience, giving it a fresh feel. In addition, Phasmophobia is set to become a movie adaptation produced by Blumhouse, known for titles such as Five Nights at Freddy’s and The Purge.
