Introducing the New C64 Mini Limited Edition: 25 Modern Commodore Games Included!

Retro Games Limited has introduced a new iteration of its miniature Commodore 64 home computer, the C64 Mini – Black Edition. This limited release, priced at $120, is available exclusively on Amazon and features 25 modern titles along with the original 64 games from the 2018 launch.

The Black Edition celebrates the creativity of modern developers, with titles like Sam’s Journey and A Pig Quest included among the new offerings. While Amazon faced stock issues on launch day, you can still order it. The original C64 Mini, which retailed for $70, is currently discounted to $51 but lacks the modern games that justify the Black Edition’s higher price point.

The additional titles are largely gathered from well-known C64 publishers available on itch.io, such as Psytronik and Protovision. Notably, four of the Protovision games normally retail for approximately $55 combined, making the Black Edition’s price increase seem warranted given the value of the included content.

The C64 Mini includes a classic USB joystick, USB power cable, HDMI cable, and an instruction manual, though it doesn’t come with an AC adapter. The device is half the size of the original Commodore 64 and has a non-functional decorative keyboard. Players can use a USB keyboard to write programs or load additional games.

Games are displayed at 720p resolution with options for original 4:3 aspect ratios and CRT filter effects for a nostalgic look. Save slots are available for each preloaded game, allowing for easy progress tracking.

List of New Games Included:

  • A Pig Quest ($11.61)
  • Galencia ($5)
  • Good Kniight ($4)
  • Guns ‘N’ Ghosts ($3)
  • Sam’s Journey ($24)
  • Yeti Mountain ($9)
  • And more…

The modern titles are just part of what the Black Edition offers, making it a worthwhile option for retro gaming fans looking to relive or discover Commodore classics.
