SolarWinds has announced its acquisition of Squadcast, a San Francisco-based incident response technology company, to enhance its observability platform. This strategic move aims to integrate Squadcast’s intelligent incident response capabilities into SolarWinds’ offerings, allowing for faster mean time to resolution (MTTR) for users.
Cullen Childress, SolarWinds’ chief product officer, highlighted that with the challenges of managing hybrid ecosystems and the overwhelming volume of alerts, IT professionals require more robust solutions. He emphasized that combining Squadcast’s technology with SolarWinds’ platform will significantly accelerate incident detection and remediation processes.
Squadcast has reported that its clients experience an average 68% reduction in MTTR and save an estimated 1,000 work hours and $500,000 in costs through the use of its technology. This acquisition is expected to not only enhance operational resilience for users but also redefine expectations around reliability within incident response programs.
Amiya Adwitiya, CEO and Founder of Squadcast, expressed enthusiasm about joining forces with SolarWinds to enhance customer reliability through optimized incident response facilitated by AI. SolarWinds serves a diverse range of clients, from small to large enterprises, and the integration of Squadcast’s capabilities will further strengthen its portfolio.
Childress noted the positive impact of the collaboration, citing examples from users like Redis and Charter who have already benefitted from the technology’s ability to reduce alert fatigue and improve situational awareness. SolarWinds will be providing additional insights regarding the capabilities gained from this acquisition during the upcoming free virtual event, SolarWinds Day: The Era of Operational Resilience.
The acquisition addresses a pressing need in the industry: many IT environments today struggle with visibility gaps and lack the tools to proactively manage service health effectively. The combined strengths of SolarWinds and Squadcast aim to fill these gaps and enhance diagnostic and remediation processes before they affect business operations.
