With the upcoming release of A Minecraft Movie on April 4, 2025, Minecraft is set to expand its in-game universe with an assortment of exciting new content. Players can look forward to a live event, downloadable content (DLC), and free skins inspired by the film.
Starting from March 25, players will be able to enter a special realm featuring Midport Village, where they can engage in missions alongside characters voiced by Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Hansen. The event offers a series of minigames that allow multiplayer participation, ensuring that gamers can team up to tackle challenges. Successfully completing all five minigames will reward players with the exclusive Yearn cape.
In addition, the update will include a variety of free downloadable skins featuring the movie’s heroes. You can dress your character as Jack Black’s rendition of Steve or even don Jason Momoa’s flashy pink jacket from the trailers.
The DLC will feature different activities within the game, such as elytra races, "surviving the night" challenges, and sneaking missions into woodland mansions. Both the live event and the DLC are available for free on the Marketplace.
As excitement builds for the film’s premiere, which also ties into an animated series slated to be released by Netflix, Minecraft fans are in for an engaging crossover experience.
