RFK Jr. Demands HHS Release Medicaid Data of Undocumented Migrants to DHS

The Trump administration has ordered the transfer of Medicaid data pertaining to undocumented individuals to deportation officials, a move spearheaded by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. This action could undermine public trust in the government’s management of personal data and could deter undocumented immigrants from seeking necessary medical care. The data in question includes names, addresses, immigration status, and health claims related to millions of enrollees, particularly in states that fund their own Medicaid programs.

Medicaid officials have expressed concerns that this transfer might violate the Social Security Act and other legal statutes. They warned that disclosing these records could lead to legal repercussions and affect collaborative information-sharing processes between state and federal entities. California Governor Gavin Newsom denounced the decision as "potentially illegal," although an HHS official defended it by stating that the agency acted within legal boundaries without elaborating on the data’s intended use.

In a related context, protests against the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement strategies have intensified in Los Angeles. Local communities and immigrant advocates are using social media to create alert systems for impending ICE raids. The protests have also seen military involvement, with President Trump deploying US Marines and the National Guard. Simultaneously, federal agencies such as Customs and Border Protection have escalated their operations by employing surveillance drones over protest sites.

In additional security news, two Italian journalists’ phones were compromised by Paragon spyware, alleged to have been deployed by the Italian government. Moreover, Ukraine’s military intelligence claimed to have hacked into a Russian aerospace company, Tupolev, stealing sensitive information about strategic bombers.

Lastly, an Interpol operation dubbed “Operation Secure” succeeded in dismantling a major infrastructure of information-stealing malware, resulting in numerous arrests and the seizure of substantial amounts of data.
