Arista Networks Expresses Concerns Over ‘Horrendous’ Memory Situation

Arista Networks has reported a significant increase in revenue, reaching $9 billion in 2025, marking a 28.6% growth compared to the previous year. This success is attributed to the enhanced demand for AI and campus Ethernet networking, demonstrating the company’s strong market position. CEO Jayshree Ullal noted the successful achievement of their expansion goals, stating that the company surpassed its expectations for growth, particularly in the realm of generative AI.

However, Arista also faces considerable challenges, particularly regarding the rising costs of system memory. Ullal pointed out that while the company had anticipated these costs since 2025, the situation has significantly worsened in 2026. She mentioned that the prices for memory components have surged exponentially, leading to shortages that the company is struggling to manage. In response to these challenges, Arista is contemplating selective price increases on memory-intensive products to mitigate financial pressures.

Looking forward, Arista is committed to its ambitious target of achieving $1.25 billion in revenue from campus networks by 2026. The company’s strategy involves significant expansions in their routing and core network capabilities, exemplified by the recent launch of the 7800 R4 spine, which supports a staggering 460 terabits of capacity. This strong position within the market is further underscored by expectations for substantial growth in Ethernet connectivity, which Ullal anticipates will also benefit from the forthcoming Ethernet for Scale-Up Networking (ESUN) specification.

In addition, Arista projects that its AI networking revenue will double to $3.25 billion in 2026, propelled by collaboration with leading AI technology providers such as Nvidia and a diverse array of companies in the AI stack. This growth trajectory reflects Arista’s expansive vision for the future, establishing its role as a pivotal player in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
