Minecraft fans are eagerly anticipating the home release of the much-talked-about film, A Minecraft Movie. The digital version will be available for purchase on May 13, while various Blu-ray editions will hit shelves starting June 24.
Preorders for multiple Blu-ray versions began soon after the movie’s theatrical debut on April 4. The film, which stars notable actors such as Jack Black, Jason Momoa, and Jennifer Coolidge, has garnered mixed reviews from critics but has resonated strongly with audiences, approaching $900 million in box office earnings.
Fans can expect several physical editions, including a Limited Edition Steelbook priced at $38 and a Walmart-exclusive Crafting Table Edition available for $35. Both editions feature unique packaging and come with special bonus content that gives insight into the making of the movie. The Steelbook includes the 4K Blu-ray and a digital copy, while the Crafting Table Edition offers a Blu-ray, DVD, and digital version but lacks the 4K option.
Bonus features across all Blu-ray versions will include behind-the-scenes content showcasing the film’s production elements and the transition from the video game to the big screen.
In addition to the movie, fans can also explore two book releases: A Minecraft Movie: From Block to Big Screen, a hardcover detailing the development of the film, and A Minecraft Movie: Official Coloring Book, aimed at younger audiences.
