Nexon Games has unveiled an intriguing teaser for their upcoming action-adventure game, Woochi the Wayfarer, which draws inspiration from the classic Korean novel The Tale of Jeon Woochi. This announcement comes from the developers of The First Descendant, promising a fresh narrative set against the backdrop of Korea’s Joseon era.
The teaser, while lacking English audio, features English subtitles that reveal the storyline. In the video, we meet Myoan, a shaman who conducts a violent ritual involving a snake. Woochi confronts her at a sinister shrine, only to witness her transformation into a formidable creature. The encounter highlights Woochi’s impressive swordsmanship, though he ultimately faces overwhelming odds as Myoan declares, “Proclaim it to Heaven, we rise again.”
The game will be developed on Unreal Engine 5 by LoreVault Studio, who are currently consulting with experts in Korean literature and traditional music to ensure authenticity in the game’s presentation. Moreover, the soundtrack is set to be composed by Jung Jae-il, known for his work in popular titles like Squid Game and Parasite.
Although Nexon Games has yet to announce a release date for Woochi the Wayfarer, the game is confirmed to be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
