Global data center developer and operator STACK Infrastructure has announced the opening of its expanded 100MW, SVY01 facility in Silicon Valley, in San Jose. One of the biggest and most sought-after data center marketplaces in the world will receive critical capacity and scale from this 60MW data center expansion.
With the addition of two data centers, an advanced manufacturing plant, and a parking building, the campus now spans 19 acres and has a capacity of 100MW. The Silicon Valley facility accommodates multiple cooling options to address the increasing need for high-density workloads and cloud infrastructure deployments.
According to Matt VanderZanden, Chief Operating Officer of STACK Americas, “This expansion stands as an example of STACK’s dedication to building lasting local partnerships and stimulating overall community growth. Our goal of contributing to a broad-based, sustainable economic future is paramount, and we must deliver responsibly scaled services to our clients while positively impacting the region.”
To create new power infrastructure in the Silicon Valley region and support a more reliable, secure, and scalable grid for both public and private usage, STACK is also actively working with PG&E.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) operates as a utility enterprise from its base in San Francisco, California. The vast majority of northern California comes under its purview, with the supply of natural gas and electricity extending to nearly 16 million residents over a service area of 70,000 square miles.
David Cohen, Councilmember for San Jose District 4, expressed his delight at STACK’s venture to expand their operations in North San Jose, given the ever-increasing requirements for data storage as technology continuously encompasses every facet of modern life. Cohen particularly commended STACK’s commitment towards environmental stewardship inherent in the construction of the site and appreciated the successful collaboration. He found their focussed ecologically friendly strategy inspirational, making it a benchmark for others to emulate. He noted the alignment of these principles with those of San Jose.
STACK Infrastructure boasts of an extensive portfolio of data center solutions, with more than 4.0+GW of capacity already developed or under progress and an additional 2.5+GW in the pipeline across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. The portfolio extends to multi-hundred-megawatt campus developments spanning 23 primary data center markets.
