Exciting Lineup for Pokemon Go September 2024: Raids, Community Day, Spotlight Hours, and More!

Here are all the biggest events happening in Pokemon Go this month.

Pokemon Go‘s new Max Out season has begun, and the mobile game is kicking things off in a big way this month. Throughout September, Pokemon Go will host a variety of events and activities featuring new Galar Pokemon, including a Falinks Raid Day and brand-new raid battles against gigantic Dynamax Pokemon.

On top of that, players have new Spotlight Hours to look forward to this month, as well as a Community Day featuring both regular Ponyta and its Galarian variant. Here are all the biggest events happening in Pokemon Go in September.

Pokemon Go is updating its raid lineup this month. In the coming weeks, players will get another opportunity to battle the legendary Pokemon Kyogre, Groudon, and Zacian in five-star raids. Additionally, Mega Absol, Mega Houndoom, and Mega Gardevoir will be featured in Mega raids throughout September.

Furthermore, the game is launching a new raid category: Max Battles. These team-based challenges will involve combat against oversized Dynamax Pokemon. The initial series of Max Battles will include the original Kanto starters—Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle—as well as Galar region favorites Skwovet and Wooloo.

Every weekend in September

Pokemon Go’s weekly Spotlight Hour events return in September with new featured Pokemon and bonuses.

Every Tuesday evening from 6-7 PM local time, players will have more opportunities to encounter a specific Pokemon and can receive additional bonuses like extra XP or Stardust for catching or evolving Pokemon. Below is the complete Spotlight Hour schedule for September:

Pokemon Go is starting September with a Go All Out event from September 3-10. During this event, several Galar Pokemon such as Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Dreepy will be seen in the wild and emerging from eggs, providing a unique opportunity to acquire these creatures for your collection.

Moreover, new event-specific Research Tasks and Collection Challenges will be introduced. Completing these will award various prizes, including more opportunities to encounter Galar Pokemon. Other extra features such as double XP for capturing and evolving Pokemon will also be active throughout the event.

Galar’s Dynamax phenomenon is arriving in Pokemon Go with the Go Big event, scheduled for September 10-15.

During this event, players can engage in Max Battles, a newly introduced raid format featuring battles against Dynamax Pokemon. The initial lineup of Max Battle bosses features Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo. Captured Pokemon from these raids will possess the ability to Dynamax in subsequent Max Battles.

In addition to the raids, Pokemon Go is rolling out a new season-long Special Research story beginning September 3. As part of the Special Research, you’ll be able to earn Max Particles and a Dynamax Band item for your avatar.

The Galar Pokemon Falinks is starring as part of a special Falinks Raid Day on September 8. From 2-5 PM local time, the fighting-type Pokemon will be appearing in raid battles more frequently, and you’ll have an increased chance of encountering a shiny Falinks in these raids. On top of that, you’ll be able to receive up to five free raid passes when you spin the Photo Disc at a gym.

This month’s Community Day is set for September 14 and will feature both Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta. Throughout the event, both variants will appear in the wild more frequently than usual, and each will be able to learn an exclusive attack–Wild Charge–upon evolving into Rapidash.

On top of that, you’ll earn double candy and triple Stardust for catching Pokemon during the event, and any Lure Modules and Incense you use will last for three hours rather than their usual durations. There will also be bonus four-star raids featuring both types of Ponyta following the event.

Pokemon Go’s annual psychic Pokemon event, the Psychic Spectacular, returns September 18-22. Few details have been released, but attendees can look forward to encountering both new and known psychic Pokemon during the event.

The month’s Psychic Spectacular event culminates in a special Research Day featuring Oranguru and Passimian, two recently introduced Pokemon from the Galar region. This day is scheduled for September 22 from 2-5 PM local time. More information will be provided as the date approaches.

The end of September introduces another new event called Legendary Heroes. Exact details are limited, but it is scheduled to run from September 26-October 1.
