During the main story quest of Destiny 2 titled "The Edge of Fate," players will encounter red chests located across the new planet of Kepler. These chests require knowledge of an unfamiliar language spoken by the Aeonian people, which players will not initially understand. Your companion, Lodi, has some basic knowledge of this language and can help, but players will need to unlock particular abilities to interact more fully with their surroundings and open these chests.
Progressing through the campaign, you will meet with Rebecca, the Dean, who will send you on a mission to eliminate some enemies and gather vital information. Completing this task will grant you the Rosetta equipment, enabling you to understand the Aeonian language at a basic level and access previously locked chests.
As you move further along in the missions, you have the flexibility to tackle tasks in any order. Focusing on missions that reward Rosetta upgrades will enhance your language skills, allowing you to unlock more secrets hidden on Kepler. The more you upgrade this equipment, the better your understanding of the language will be.
While exploring, players might also spot time-limited activities or even find ways to sequence break the game, which Bungie has confirmed is intentional.
