Fortnite is down ahead of the start of Chapter 5 Season 3, and it won’t be long until Fallout’s Brotherhood of Steel invades the island.

After three months of godly gameplay, Fortnite’s Myths & Mortals season has come to a close, and the new season, Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked, is imminent. But, for the moment, we’re stuck in limbo with Fortnite offline while Epic Games deploys the season update. This is standard procedure–we get at least a few hours of downtime before each new season. It’s just a matter of time now.

When Fortnite’s servers come back up, it’ll usher in this year’s massive summer season, complete with a major collaboration with Fallout right off the bat, a new desert wasteland-type biome, some kind of new vehicular combat mechanics, and an all-new battle pass full of fresh cosmetics–such as Brotherhood of Steel power armor, which Epic has been teasing all week.

That Fallout collaboration is a huge deal that has everyone excited, but for now, all we can do is patiently wait for Epic to reactivate Fortnite. However, there is no clear timeline as to when this will occur due to the unspecified duration of this maintenance window. Generally, a new Fortnite season begins between 7 AM and 10 AM ET on the release day, in this case, May 24. But there have been significant discrepancies. During the previous season’s commencement, for instance, technical hiccups kept the game offline until late at night, with Fortnite being inactive for almost 24 hours. But such a scenario is very uncommon.

When the game eventually resumes, Season 3 will bring a plethora of alterations to the battle royale island, all thanks to the looming sandstorm approaching from the south. The most noticeable immediate change will be the desert wasteland introduction, complete with several novel key locations like the Nitro Drome fighting arena. The Fallout collaboration is poised to attract a large number of players, given the recent TV adaptation’s success this spring.

As soon as the servers are back online, we will provide an extensive roundup of everything new in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 right here.
