Gearbox has unveiled a new story trailer for the upcoming game, Borderlands 4, which is set to launch on September 12 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Switch 2 version arriving later. This trailer provides insight into the game’s main antagonist, the Timekeeper, along with his minions, including the ever-popular Claptrap.
As the launch date approaches, Gearbox is sharing more information about how Borderlands 4 will expand on its predecessors. Notably, the game will feature a seamless world, dynamic events, and an enhanced weapon drop system designed to make legendary items feel rare and noteworthy once again.
A significant change for this installment is the game’s tone, with a focus on a more grounded sense of humor compared to its predecessor, which faced criticism for its comedy. According to Jordan Ramée from GameSpot, while Borderlands 4 maintains the essence of the franchise, it feels like an improvement over Borderlands 3 without deviating too much from what players love about the series.
