Nintendo has launched its holiday console bundles for 2024 at Walmart, Target, and several other major retailers. You can choose from two options, both including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a Switch Online membership. For the first time, the popular Mario Kart bundle is available with the Nintendo Switch OLED priced at $349. The regular Switch bundle, available each holiday for the past few years, is again offered at $299.
Although Amazon has yet to feature the 2024 Switch holiday bundles, it is surprising given that the retailer isn’t offering new Nintendo game releases. However, you can find the Mario Red Switch OLED for $55 off on Amazon, reducing the price of last year’s holiday console to $295. You can create your own bundle for $345 by pairing it with this discounted Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The only missing component is the Switch Online membership.
The Nintendo Switch OLED Mario Kart bundle features a console with white Joy-Cons and a matching white docking station. It also includes 12 months of Switch Online and a voucher to redeem Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from the Nintendo eShop. This package offers an additional $80 worth of content when compared to purchasing the console ($350), Mario Kart ($60), and Switch Online ($20) separately.
In addition to the sharp, larger OLED screen, this bundle provides several quality-of-life enhancements over the standard model. The Switch OLED boasts a broader, better-designed dock equipped with an ethernet port, enhanced speakers, and twice the internal storage capacity (64GB). Moreover, the integrated kickstand has been significantly upgraded for tabletop gaming.
You can purchase the bundle at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop. Walmart is offering the bundle for just $1 less than the other retailers.
Alternatively, there’s a $300 version that includes the base model Switch; however, investing an extra $50 for the OLED variant is worthwhile, as the advanced screen significantly enhances the handheld gaming experience.
The standard Nintendo Switch bundle is priced at $299 on Walmart, while it’s available for $300 at Target, Best Buy, and GameStop.
The bundle comes with a game code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, known as the best-selling Switch game ever, although this figure also reflects prior console bundles. Initially released on the Wii U and later adapted for the Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has significantly grown thanks to numerous DLC tracks. If you’re purchasing this console package as a present, consider adding the Booster Course Pass for $25, which adds 48 tracks to the game, essentially doubling its content.
A 12-month subscription to Switch Online expands your gaming experience by allowing online multiplayer access, game save storage online, and a steadily increasing collection of NES, SNES, and Game Boy titles. Although news regarding the Switch successor is anticipated next year, there is still a wealth of exciting games set to launch for the current Switch consoles in 2024 and the following year.
If you’re leaning towards the portable-only Nintendo Switch Lite, a new Hyrule Edition handheld was released on September 26, coinciding with The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. You can purchase the Zelda-themed Switch Lite for $210. While it doesn’t come bundled with the game, a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership is included, giving access to an even wider array of classic Nintendo games.
