Chronosphere Launches Innovative Logging Package with Advanced Cost Control Features

Chronosphere has recently introduced an enhanced logging product as part of its observability platform, aiming to provide enterprises with improved management of their observability data and the associated costs. The new offering, Chronosphere Logs 2.0, enables companies to correlate logs with metrics, events, and traces, thus streamlining issue resolution with smarter analytics and recommendations.

Alok Bhide, the head of product innovation at Chronosphere, highlights the sophisticated analysis capabilities of the new logging system, which allows users to make informed decisions about their logs. According to a study conducted by Chronosphere, log data within enterprises is expanding at an impressive rate of 250% annually. The Chronosphere Logs solution is designed to help engineers and observability teams manage incidents more efficiently while simultaneously controlling costs. The usage analysis feature facilitates preemptive recommendations to minimize data storage needs before logs are retained.

Paul Nashawaty, a principal analyst at the CUBE Research, pointed out the challenges organizations face in managing telemetry data, noting that a significant portion of observability expenditure is directed towards storing logs that often remain unutilized. He indicated that Chronosphere’s new capabilities enhance transparency concerning log data usage, empowering organizations to cut costs and streamline their operations.

The new Usage Analysis feature within Chronosphere Logs allows teams to manage their log data volume intelligently, retaining what is valuable and discarding the rest. It also supports high-performance querying at scale, capable of handling vast amounts of data daily, thus unifying observability practices across metrics, events, logs, and traces (MELT) in a single interface.

Chronosphere’s observability platform is available as a SaaS solution, tailored particularly for cloud-based SaaS companies focused on optimizing telemetry management. The platform’s design ensures smooth integration with existing environments, enabling observability teams to swiftly implement log control features. Chronosphere Logs 2.0 is now generally available for enterprises looking to enhance their observability capabilities.
