The DOJ and FBI had provided earlier assurances that they would release comprehensive records related to Epstein’s case, hoping to dispel speculation, but the memo delivered mostly reconfirmed earlier findings: Epstein was found dead by apparent suicide in his New York prison cell in August 2019.
The investigations also revealed that during the time of Epstein’s death, most surveillance cameras in the jail were not operational due to technical issues, leaving only two cameras to document the events. A notable one-minute gap exists in the footage, which some speculate could be indicative of deeper issues, despite official claims that this missing segment occurs routinely.

Experts caution against the reliability of any digital evidence that hasn’t been directly exported from the original source.
