Thirteen years after her collaboration with The Sims 3, Katy Perry delighted fans by performing her hit song "Last Friday Night" in Simlish during a recent concert. This nostalgic moment came when a fan requested the performance, leading her to sing part of the chorus in the game’s playful language.
A clip shared on X by user TheWitnessedBoy shows Perry embracing the request, marking a fun nod to her promotional history with The Sims franchise, particularly with the launch of The Sims 3’s Showtime expansion in 2012, which included a Katy Perry Collector’s Edition. This edition showcased her song "Last Friday Night" performed in Simlish.
Katy is not alone in her Simlish renditions; other artists like FKA Twigs have also lent their voices to the language in The Sims 4. Meanwhile, the franchise has exciting developments coming up, including an official board game. However, Electronic Arts (EA) has indicated that no new mainline Sims game, such as The Sims 5, is on the horizon due to the extensive number of DLCs released for The Sims 4. Instead, they plan to expand the Sims ecosystem with projects like Project Rene.
