How the Fallout TV Show Could Shape the Future of Fallout 5

Fallout 5 is currently under development at Bethesda Game Studios, but it is still years away from its release. Bethesda’s head, Todd Howard, revealed that the game will have connections to the popular Prime Video series based on the Fallout universe. In an interview with the BBC, Howard confirmed that Fallout 5 will take into account the stories and events portrayed in the TV show.

The influence of the show is not limited to just Fallout 5; Fallout 76 has also integrated elements from the series, including the addition of Walton Goggins’ character, The Ghoul. The game is currently free to play until December 22, likely to coincide with the launch of Fallout Season 2.

Bethesda initially announced Fallout 5 in 2022, stating it would follow the release of The Elder Scrolls VI, with no specific launch date provided yet. Fans are advised to brace for a long wait.

Howard also mentioned Bethesda’s ongoing commitment to the Fallout franchise, expressing how the TV show can help attract new fans who may not be gamers. He emphasized the importance of allowing these viewers to experience the Fallout world.

In addition to Fallout 5, rumors suggest that Bethesda may be working on a remaster of Fallout 3. For more updates on the Fallout universe, check GameSpot’s coverage on Fallout Season 2 and its Easter eggs.
