A cloud repository was discovered that had been left publicly accessible, containing nearly 90,000 screenshots of the celebrity’s private interactions, including messages, selfies, and detailed phone usage. This data was reportedly compiled through stalkerware and captured moments from mid-2024 to mid-2025. The researcher, Jeremiah Fowler, noted that not only was the celebrity affected, but the data also posed a threat to their contacts, which included models, influencers, and others with significant social media followings.
The repository was named "Cocospy," which is known as a notorious stalkerware tool. It is designed to operate in "stealth mode," taking screenshots and collecting extensive information from a target’s device without their knowledge. Cocospy has previously faced scrutiny, having gone offline after exposing customer information due to a breach that compromised user data.
Despite being a renowned public figure, Fowler emphasized that everyone is entitled to privacy. He promptly reported the exposure to local law enforcement and the cloud service hosting the data.
Unfortunately, cases like this highlight a broader issue regarding stalkerware as it continues to be weaponized for surveillance and harassment.
