Groundcover’s latest offering, Agent Mode, is a built-in AI assistant designed to simplify the troubleshooting process for engineers. It allows users to analyze logs and traces effectively without the need for manually written queries, enhancing efficiency in addressing issues that arise during software deployment.
Traditionally, observability has been a reactive discipline focused on identifying outages and influencing post-production strategies. However, with the integration of AI, especially agentic systems, there is a pressing need to incorporate observability into the earlier stages of the software development lifecycle—specifically during coding and testing. Groundcover’s observability technology leverages open-source eBPF and OpenTelemetry technologies to monitor application and infrastructure activities, allowing for deeper insights without requiring extensive coding adjustments from developers.

Another key feature of the Groundcover platform is the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which allows seamless interaction between Agent Mode and various coding agents. This functionality is designed to foster collaboration between engineers and intelligent systems during diagnostic processes.
