Season 2 of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone will include a new battle pass to level up and unlock more weapons and cosmetics. There are both free and premium tiers of the pass, and Call of Duty’s extra-premium $30 BlackCell bundle also returns. This season’s BlackCell operator features a skin that morphs from human to zombie and eventually to a skeleton as the player racks up kills.

The operator highlights for this season’s standard pass are Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead and Kate Laswell from this rebooted Modern Warfare series. For DLC weapons, the free tiers of the pass include the BP50 assault rifle and RAM-9 submachine gun, while two more weapons will arrive later in the season.

The Walking Dead: Fear the Living event is returning with its thrilling zombies theme from February 28 to March 6. During this event, players will have a chance to unlock some exclusive zombies-themed cosmetics.

In Season 2, the highly famous Fortune’s Keep map of Warzone makes a grand comeback. This time, the map comes incorporated with the new Ranked Play Resurgence mode explicitly designed for trios. The map has undergone a few visual alterations since its previous appearance in the Vanguard-era of Warzone. What’s more, the Fortune’s Keep will now include fresh extendable bridges, a novel score tracker exhibiting a team’s squad wipe streaks, and some exciting Zombies-themed content.

Season 2 doesn’t stop at that, it further introduces a series of new maps in the game. Standard 6v6 maps Stash House, Vista, and Departures are all set to roll out at launch. Operation Tin Man, a unique map specifically design for the game’s large-scale War mode, will also be launched. As the season progresses, players can anticipate more maps, including a remastered edition of the highly popular Das Haus map from Vanguard.

Team Gun Game, Snipers Only, Hordepoint, Bounty, and the novel Juggermosh mode have been confirmed as the five distinct game modes. Juggermosh mode, particularly, adds an interesting spin to gameplay as a third-person-perspective variant mode, where all players are equipped with juggernaut suits in mixed game modes.

The update also includes a new season of Ranked Play multiplayer, plus new challenges, events, and seasonal player progression.

For Zombies, players will need to wait until the midseason update to get the new content revealed, but the announcements include a new Dark Aether story act, a second Dark Aether Rift, more schematics, and a new warlord boss to fight.

Season 1 Reloaded is currently live, and this is the last chance to earn the cosmetics from The Boys event or score those Season 1 Ranked Play rewards in multiplayer.
