Shadow the Hedgehog Lego Set (720 pieces)
$59.49 (was $70) | Released October 1
If you spent your weekend enjoying Sonic X Shadow Generations and wish to keep the Ultimate Life Form around, consider constructing him in your very own home lab using Lego bricks. The newly available Shadow the Hedgehog Lego display set is currently discounted at Target for the first time. You can grab Lego Shadow the Hedgehog for just $59.49 (down from $70) this week, while supplies last. Given the newly launched game and the upcoming Sonic 3 movie, this offer might sell out quickly. It’s quite surprising that this deal exists at all, especially since the Shadow the Hedgehog set just hit the market on October 1 at the price of $70.
Exclusive to Target and the Lego Store, Shadow represents the second adult-focused Sonic the Hedgehog Lego display model. You could argue it’s technically the first because the Green Hill Zone display model was released under the Lego Ideas umbrella in early 2022, ahead of the official Sonic series launch in August of last year.
Once fully assembled, the 720-piece Shadow the Hedgehog Lego set measures 8 x 7 x 8.5 inches. While it may not be a large display model—the height of eight inches includes the stand—it remains one of the more affordable Lego model kits inspired by a video game aimed at adults.
Moreover, it features several Easter eggs, encompassing a Chaos Emerald, various familiar items from Sega’s enduring franchise, and other references to Sonic’s universe. Lego recommends this set for ages 18 and over, although younger builders who have experience with constructing the popular Star Wars and Marvel helmet models should find no difficulty in assembling it.
The age rating is likely attributed to its design for display purposes. Additionally, it relates back to Shadow’s introduction in the 2001 game Sonic Adventure 2 for the Sega Dreamcast. It’s reasonable to assume that most children who enjoy the Sonic films and recent game titles are probably not familiar with Sonic Adventure 2 or the Dreamcast console itself.
Shadow has made appearances in several Sonic the Hedgehog playsets as a Lego minifigure, including this set featuring a motorcycle. Below is a complete list of Sonic Lego sets—many of which are currently available at discounted prices.
Amazon features fantastic deals on other Lego Sonic building kits, including Amy’s Animal Rescue Island for just $29 (originally $50), the previously mentioned Lego Ideas Green Hill Zone display model for $69.59 (was $80), and Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot for $48 (was $60). You could enhance your large Shadow the Hedgehog set with a Shadow minifigure along with his motorcycle for just $16 (was $20).
If you haven’t acquired Sonic X Shadow Generations, which features a remaster of Sonic Generations and a new campaign highlighting Shadow, you can purchase a physical edition for Nintendo Switch, PS5, or Xbox Series X for $50. Similar to the Shadow Lego set, the physical edition comes with a manual detailing how to construct Shadow as a launch bonus (while supplies last). In fact, it’s a replica of Professor Gerald Robotnik’s journal. It’s likely that you’ll assemble the Shadow Lego set far quicker than it took Robotnik to design Shadow.
On the other hand, PC gamers can enjoy an even better deal than the already affordable $50 price point. Fanatical is currently offering Sonic X Shadow Generations Steam keys for $43.49. You can also choose the Digital Deluxe Edition for $52.19 (was $60), which includes exciting extras like several skins, a digital soundtrack, and an art book.
In upcoming cinematic news, Shadow will be portrayed by Keanu Reeves in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, premiering in theaters on December 20. If you’re looking to catch up on the previous two films along with Paramount’s Knuckles miniseries, Amazon offers affordable collectible steelbook editions, including a two-movie steelbook collection on 4K Blu-ray for just $25, which is half the price of the first Sonic movie’s 4K steelbook edition currently available on Amazon.
