Versa Unveils VersaONE: The Next-Gen Converged Security and Networking Platform

Versa Networks has launched VersaONE, a comprehensive platform that integrates its various security and networking solutions, including SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network), and SD-LAN (Software-Defined Local Area Network). This new offering is designed to reduce risks and simplify infrastructure management by allowing users to control both network and security functions through a single console.

Kelly Ahuja, Versa’s president and CEO, emphasized the platform’s capability to streamline network and security management, enabling organizations to enforce a unified set of policies. Customers can choose to license various modules of VersaONE either separately or as a bundle, facilitating secure connections for users, devices, branches, and workloads from one interface.

The platform encompasses key components typical of SASE solutions, such as secure web gateways, cloud access security brokers (CASB), zero-trust network access (ZTNA), and firewall-as-a-service (FWaaS). Additionally, all products operate on the Versa Operating System (VOS) and come equipped with shared AI engines and a strong zero-trust foundation.

Recently, Versa added VersaAI capabilities, which leverage security and network telemetry to provide advanced analytics and visibility into enterprise networks. Ahuja pointed out that this development is part of a broader trend in the industry towards platformization, a movement gaining traction among enterprise IT buyers seeking more integrated solutions.

In a recent survey conducted by Extreme Networks involving 200 CIOs and senior IT leaders, an overwhelming 88% indicated that platformization could facilitate the integration of multiple components, including networking and security. Furthermore, 55% of respondents expressed a preference for platforms that support a variety of networking and security offerings—all under one umbrella.

The combined approach of managing SD-WAN and security solutions through a single platform could enhance operational efficiency, mitigate complexity, and lower total costs. Effective management across the WAN, LAN, data centers, and cloud becomes feasible through such platforms, reducing the burden of juggling different management tools and vendors.

VersaONE is available for deployment in various configurations– shared, private, or sovereign infrastructures, which can be fully managed, co-managed, or self-managed, making it accessible for diverse operational needs.
