Nintendo of America Boss Assures Adequate Supply for Switch 2 Demand in the US

Nintendo of America is expressing confidence that the supply of the new Switch 2 will meet demand in the United States. Despite preorders selling out almost immediately for the June 5 launch, Doug Bowser, the company’s president, stated that they have a solid production plan in place to ensure adequate availability throughout 2025, particularly during the busy holiday season.

In an interview with IGN, Bowser addressed the demand for the Switch 2, emphasizing that Nintendo is prepared to maintain a continuous flow of product to satisfy consumers. He acknowledged the positive reception of the Switch 2 reflected in the overwhelming preorders but reassured that their supply strategy is designed to meet ongoing demand.

This outlook aligns with comments made earlier by Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, who revealed that the company is forecasting sales of 15 million units in the first year, without production constraints being a primary concern. Furukawa noted that the higher price of the Switch 2 compared to the original could significantly affect hardware sales this year.

Recent reviews also highlighted specifications for the Switch 2, including that Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support will not be available in docked mode at launch. However, the tablet display will support VRR. Furthermore, customers can expect settings designed to prevent battery wear and per-game customization options for the console’s GL/GR buttons.

Priced at $450, the Switch 2 will launch alongside the highly anticipated game, Mario Kart World.
