Geoff Keighley, the founder of The Game Awards, has been hinting at a significant game announcement involving a mysterious, glowing demonic statue located in the California desert. Despite widespread speculation among fans about the statue’s purpose—ranging from a possible new title in the Diablo series to the next God of War or Elder Scrolls installment—Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games, has confirmed that the statue does not pertain to their upcoming game, Lords of the Fallen 2.
In a post on X, Tyminski expressed his surprise at the volume of interest in the statue, stating that while he is "flattered" by the assumption, CI Games is not yet at that level of promotion. He revealed that his team is just as eager to learn what the statue represents, referencing a hope that it could be a new project from FromSoftware, a company they hold in high regard.
Tyminski assured fans that there are significant updates coming soon for both the original Lords of the Fallen and its sequel, hinting that more information might be unveiled at the upcoming Game Awards, which are known for showcasing new game releases in addition to honoring outstanding work in the industry.
As for the true nature of the statue’s promotion, industry insider Jason Schreier suggests it may not be tied to either a new Diablo expansion or Elder Scrolls 6, and even Cory Barlog, developer of the God of War franchise, has stated that the statue is not linked to his work. The gaming community is on edge as they await the airing of The Game Awards to reveal the statue’s true significance.
