Game Boy Lego Set: Restocked at Walmart and Lego Store, But Sold Out on Amazon!

In an exciting development for retro gaming enthusiasts, Lego’s 421-piece Game Boy building set is back in stock at Walmart and the Lego Store. This highly anticipated set, priced at $60, is set to launch on October 1, just in time for the holiday shopping season. The Game Boy set had previously sold out at several retailers, including Amazon, where it had been the only store offering uninterrupted preorders throughout August.

Collectors are advised to reserve the Game Boy set as it could sell out quickly upon release. Notably, preorders sold out at Target as early as July and haven’t returned since, raising concerns about supply availability.

The Lego Game Boy closely resembles the original handheld console that captured gaming hearts when it debuted in 1989. This replica not only serves as a nostalgic display piece, but it also includes unique interactive elements—such as two replica cartridges from timeless classics: Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which can be inserted into the console.

Although the Game Boy set lacks electronics to interact with Lego’s Super Mario figures, it comes with three interchangeable lenticular screens. These screens create the illusion of movement for various animated scenes, enhancing the nostalgia factor.

In addition to the Game Boy set, Lego has released other themed sets aimed at adult fans, including the Mario Kart set and various others. As the market for retro gaming memorabilia continues to grow, the upcoming Game Boy set is positioned to be a sought-after item for both collectors and fans alike.
