Late last month, AdHoc Studio launched the superhero-themed episodic adventure game, Dispatch, which has seen remarkable success, selling 1 million copies within the first 10 days. This overwhelming reception has led the studio’s co-founder, Pierre Shorette, to consider the possibility of creating a second season.
In a recent appearance on The Friends Per Second podcast, Shorette shared that the game’s impact has prompted them to seriously think about Season 2, something that wasn’t on the agenda just weeks earlier. He expressed his gratitude for the fan response, describing it as a "very cool problem to have."
Although there is interest in continuing Dispatch, AdHoc Studio already has another project lined up in collaboration with Critical Role. This upcoming game will take place in the fantasy universe of Exandria and will feature a new storyline, while potentially including characters from various campaigns.
As the first season approaches its finale, which is set to release on November 12, Dispatch has recently reached a peak of over 131,000 concurrent players on Steam, making it likely that the finale could surpass this record.
