Sega announced that it will remove many of its classic games from digital stores on December 6 at 11:59 PM PST / December 7 at 2:59 AM ET. This delisting includes titles such as Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Phantasy Star II, among several others.
Players who have already purchased these titles will still be able to access them. Additionally, select individual games will remain available to those subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online. However, Sega has not provided specific reasons for the delistings or detailed which games will continue to be accessible to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers after the delistings occur.
Sega is actively developing new installments of five iconic franchises, including Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi. Details remain limited at this time, but Sega has confirmed that the upcoming Crazy Taxi will feature an open world environment and will incorporate some multiplayer elements. Additionally, Sega has recently announced the development of a new Virtua Fighter title.
