Cris Tales developer We Are Dreams has unveiled a gameplay trailer for their upcoming game, Prisma, which draws heavy inspiration from Persona 5. The game revolves around a photojournalist named Alma, who discovers a magical camera that transports her to Domacon, a vibrant world populated by various versions of herself from different multiverses.
In this new realm, each alternate Alma possesses a unique Prism Shard that grants them magical abilities. Players will face challenges from rival Almas attempting to steal these shards, adding an engaging dynamic to the gameplay.
Prisma features turn-based combat akin to Persona 5 but introduces unique mechanics that differentiate it. Players can manipulate reality using different camera filters to enhance their party’s abilities. For instance, a fisheye lens can circumvent enemy defenses, while a shattered lens transforms single-target attacks into multi-target strikes.
Additionally, players can forge bonds with different versions of Alma within their party, unlocking new combos and side quests. There will be seven alternate Almas to interact with, though only four can form a party at any given time.
The game is set to launch for PC. We Are Dreams is known for their previous title, Cris Tales, which received praise for its charming story and engaging gameplay, despite some shortcomings.
