At Cisco Live EMEA, Cisco has announced new and updated certifications aimed at fostering an AI-ready workforce. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to help organizations develop and implement AI technologies effectively. Par Merat, Vice President of Cisco Learning and Certifications, emphasized the need for an AI-powered workforce to ensure equitable access to the benefits of AI.
Cisco’s new AI training roadmap is structured to promote skills-based AI readiness through three key components:

Introduction to Modern AI: Available on NetAcad.com, this course teaches technology professionals to use AI in their daily work, create effective chatbot prompts, and utilize computer vision and machine translation.

Professional AI Skills: A new learning path on Cisco U is designed for engineers and architects, focusing on the necessary skills to implement AI solutions within Cisco’s infrastructure.

Updated Learning Materials: Existing learning content for data center and security certifications is being enhanced to include essential AI information tailored to various expertise levels.
Cisco also unveiled an AI Infrastructure learning path covering skills from entry-level to expert, equipping professionals with the knowledge to advance their careers in organizations that leverage AI technologies.
In addition to these educational advancements, Cisco is launching its AI Solutions on Cisco Infrastructure Essentials (DCAIE) program, which runs from February 7 to March 24. This program includes a series of courses on AI fundamentals and infrastructures, aimed at empowering data center engineers and IT architects with essential AI skills.
Cisco’s initiative arrives at a critical juncture as businesses strive to keep pace with rapid technological advances. Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s Chief Product Officer, noted that future competitiveness will hinge on companies adopting AI technologies effectively.
Furthermore, during Cisco Live EMEA, the company presented results from a CEO study revealing that a significant number of CEOs acknowledge AI’s potential but express concern over knowledge gaps affecting strategic decisions and growth. With 74% of CEOs anticipating these shortages to hinder boardroom initiatives, there’s an urgent need for educational enhancements in AI.
Cisco’s commitment extends to new data center switches designed to securely manage large workloads, further supporting AI development across organizations.
