Since the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, fans have eagerly awaited the first Nintendo Direct to follow this new console release. Nintendo has responded by confirming a dedicated Direct for the highly anticipated game, Donkey Kong Bananza.
Scheduled for June 18 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET, this event will be streamed on both the official Nintendo YouTube and Twitch channels. The Direct is expected to offer "roughly 15 minutes" of insights and updates about the upcoming Donkey Kong title, as stated in an official announcement via the Nintendo Today app.
This Direct marks the first since the Switch 2 Direct in April, which highlighted new features, games, and accessories of the console, including titles like The Duskbloods and Kirby Air Riders. Notably, Donkey Kong Bananza was unveiled as the final announcement during the April Direct. This new entry stands out as the first 3D-platforming adventure game featuring Donkey Kong since the classic Donkey Kong 64, showcasing gameplay where DK battles enemies and explores environments.
Set to launch on July 17 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, preorders for Donkey Kong Bananza are currently available through various online retailers.
